Valérie Saugnieux

Valérie Saugnieux is the VP, Clinical Research and Vigilances at VCLS, where she leads a multidisciplinary team of experts dedicated to designing and executing clinical research and vigilance projects.

With over 35 years of experience in Clinical Research, Pharmacovigilance, and Business Development, Valérie has established herself as a leader in the field. Her extensive background includes significant roles in top-tier pharmaceutical and clinical research organizations, where she has consistently demonstrated her expertise and leadership.

Her professional background includes:

• Sanofi Pasteur (Lyon, France): Valérie spent 10 years in Clinical Research, focusing on studies in AIDS, rabies, and hepatitis. She was instrumental in identifying and setting up clinical research centers of excellence in Asia and Africa for vaccine studies.

• Merck Serono (Geneva, Switzerland): Over 15 years, Valérie served as Project Director for studies in Reproductive Health and later as Pharmacovigilance Director. In these roles, she led a global team of clinical safety experts, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and regulatory compliance.

• UBC (Geneva, Switzerland): As Head of Business Development Europe for 10 years, Valérie had a remarkable track record of sales growth and revenue generation in clinical operations, vigilance, and real-world evidence projects.

Valérie holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Research and is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. Her extensive experience and strategic vision continue to drive the success and innovation of VCLS’s clinical research and pharmacovigilance initiatives.
